Where do I get the 2012 Federal Pay Calendar?

By Bureaupat Dec 20 2011, 05:30 AM

Dear Bureaupat,

Where do I get the 2012 federal pay calendar?

Dear Looking Ahead,

As a government employee, you know all too well that death and taxes are the only sure things in life. But you're also familiar with one of the pleasant events that is almost a sure thing: getting paid for your government job.

Aside from the occasional crisis involving the nation's debt limit or budget, you and your fine colleagues who work for Uncle Sam have a pretty good thing going --- every couple of weeks, you faithfully get paid for your toils.

To keep track of when your duly earned compensation will be paid out --- and when you've got a day off coming --- we at OhMyGov offer a variety of calendars: Federal Pay Calendars, Federal Holiday Calendars, and Federal Leave Calendars. (We even have a spoof Federal calendar.)

For the year ahead, you have three choices of federal pay calendars: 1) the Department of Justice's federal pay calendar for 2012, 2) GSA's federal pay calendar for 2012 or 3) a 2012 Fiscal Pay Calendar. Take your pick, and don't spend it all at once!

Yours in Gov,

Bureaupat

Dear Bureaupat, I’m a Tokyo-based NAF employee desperate for a GS job back home in the US (maybe even yours since I’m a writer-editor). My gov resume is meticulous, years of experience and master’s well documented – as are my “outstanding” and “excellent” ratings for the past 4 years. Still, after 2 years of applying for gov jobs there, nary a nibble. What could I be doing wrong?
